This page describes cookie and browser-storage behavior established by the current site implementation. Details that the implementation does not establish are identified rather than assumed.
Cookies
TailTested UK uses Better Auth for account sign-up and sign-in. After a successful sign-up or sign-in, the site issues a session cookie so it can maintain your authenticated session.
The inspected implementation does not establish the cookie's exact name, duration or downstream retention, so those details are not stated here.
Browser storage
When you choose a display theme, the theme control stores that choice in your browser's local storage under theme. This is browser storage, not a cookie.
The app also contains a conditional visitor beacon. If the deployment supplies POLSIA_ANALYTICS_SLUG, the browser creates a random visitor identifier when needed, stores it in local storage as polsia_vid rather than as a cookie, and requests a pixel from the configured analytics base. The implementation has a code fallback of https://polsia.com when no base is supplied.
Consent controls
No consent banner or cookie-preference control was found in the inspected app source. The visitor beacon described above is conditional on a deployment setting; its live status cannot be inferred from the absence of consent controls.
What is not established
The current app code does not establish whether the analytics setting is enabled on the live deployment, how beacon data is used or retained, or which analytics provider operates the configured base. It also does not establish the cookie retention period, the practices of third-party sites reached through retailer links, or any separate deployment-level consent configuration.
